Here's a picture of my G17 Gen 4 recoil spring assembly which I've noticed is showing what seems to be some significant wear after only approximately 250 rounds. I hope you can see in this fuzzy photo that there are actually a couple of plastic shavings coming off the end piece (I don't know if it has a name) and I'm wondering if this thing will wear down until the whole assembly flies apart, or if these are just growing pains, and will even out in time? Is this something that's common for these plastic parts? Thanks for taking a look.

It looks fine to me. However I am not a fan of any dual stage recoil spring. I had troubles with the one in my XD9 and it got replaced by a regular single spring and solid guide rod. It may sound a little odd, but it actually feels like it shoots more smooth now..

If I were to get a Gen4 I know I would get a normal spring setup, just my personal feelings........
