If you could only buy one suppressor and had to choose from one for the firearms you have: HK USP .45, .22 LR handgun and rifle, 5.56 carbine, AK type rifles or .308 EBR; which would you suppress and which suppressor would you get?

My first can was an AAC 7.62 SDN-6. The idea being that I could get muzzle devices for my AR15, my AR10 that I didn't own yet, and even a .22 for limited use. So, if I could only get one, I would do the same, but probably a different brand, as better mounting solutions and baffle technology has come out since the AAC. Probably a 30 caliber Dead Air or Rugged suppressor with a Keymo mount, or similar. Use it on anything 308 and under.

I'd probably do the same for pistol, though I shoot pistols suppressed way less than rifles. A 45 cal can with interchangeable end caps for use on 9mm would be cool. I ended up going with a dedicated 9mm can, though. So, a pistol can would be maybe my third pick.

For the absolute most FUN, a 22 suppressor is the bee's knees. Subsonic .22 from a suppressed bolt action will make any gun guy giggle at how stupid quiet it is. Even supersonic from a Ruger 22/45 Mark IV is a hoot.

Sorry if this isn't too specific. There are so many suppressors and so many new companies coming out with new technology, mounts, and applications that it's hard to nail down just one particular suppressor for any one case.

I just sent in paperwork a month ago on a Silencerco Hybrid 46. Good from .45 on down, very little loss of suppression in smaller calibers, and you can replace the end cap to help. Direct thread to 5/8x24, and you can use various muzzle devices to make swapping guns easier without messing with the fine threads.

The other option I looked at was the Dead Air Primal. I know a guy that shoots long range, he prefers the Dead Air KeyMo adapter over Silencerco’s ASR stuff. Says he gets excellent results regarding not shifting his POA/POI with it, but he’s on one gun, I’m looking at 3-5 guns, and the cost difference let’s me buy a few adapters. Plus, I’m not looking for match accuracy, I can shoot a few to get re-zeroed if required, while his 25-Creedmoor is home rolled, and in his Howa based gun, it’s a frikkin’ laser.

First, which do you shoot often? Second, are you trying to use the suppressor on all of them are just one of them? After answering those two, how much do you want to spend? The Omega by SilencerCo is a great option. KeyMo is great if using on multiple firearms. Or just save and buy more slowly. One at a time as needed or wanted.

I had exactly the same thoughts and bought the SDN-6, I use it on my AR-15, AR-10, and M1A in .22, .223, 5.56, 6.5 CM, 300 BO, 7.62, and .308; I believe it is rated for up to 300 Win Mag.

For pistol I'm getting the AAC TI-RANT 45M which will work on all of my threaded .45 and 9mm handguns. With the right accessories I believe you can use the TI-RANT on rifles too, which might make it an excellent choice for a single can for .45 and below.

Probably the most important question is why? Completely different uses and platforms. Why do you want to suppress, and what do you expect to get from one?

I went with a YHM Resonator R2. It will be mostly for my 300blk, but I can also use it on my 5.56 gun and my dad's AK, plus numerous other calibers.
