Are the XD-40 gun enthusiasts out there aware that although the Pro-mag box containing the "NEW HI-CAP" magazine for the 40 cal. XD is pl;ainly marked: "XD40 .40 12 ROUND SPR-A2", the magazine capacity is only 11 rounds! Now, they may say that it is meant to imply 11+1. If so, it should clearly state that. :twisted: It is blantently false advertising and you can be assured I will report it to the FTC. It costs $34.00 which is more than the real 12 round XD magazine from Gun-Gear. I think the FTC should come down hard on them and make them return at least $8.00 to each customer that bought one. If you got taken write to the FTC. If you didn't get taken, for GOD's sake don't buy from them.

Are you sure you can't get 12 rounds in the mag? I recall doing seeing one awhile ago, and it held 12. Also, the street price for this mag is around $20 or so.

my 12-rounder wouldn't let me push the 12th in until I had left it sitting with 11 in it for a day or so. Them springs are STIFF when new.

Good point. This is the case with most mags, even the OEM mags. Load them out and let them sit. Another option is to practice loading while watching TV. Eventually, that 12 rounds will go.

Please let me straighten you out on this. If you look on the Pro-Mag web site and look up the XD-40 "HI-Cap" it wil note that it is an 11 round magazine. But if you don't buy directly from their site, the box says 12. And other companies selling Pro-Mags say 12. They may have a right to say what is on the box, but Pro-Mag does not have the right to print 12 on the box if it only holds 11. My guess is that it was supposed to be a 12 but they had so much trouble getting 12 into it (or it would't feed) that they put 11 on their web site. Still no excuse for leaving 12 on the box. What should they have done? You ask? They should have put a shorter spring in the tube. They should supply these springs to anyone who bought their mags from other suppliers. ----- They won't because it costs money. Well, I guess I should have listened to all the opinions about Pro-Mag and why it pays to buy only original Manufacturers or Mec-Gar magazines.

I bought 2 XD40 12 rounders for my XD9 and they seem to fit tight too... I managed 15 rounds of 9mm, but no more than that. I can do 16 in my buddies original factory .40 cal mags , so maybe the springs are to long.

Still works just fine in the gun, no problems whatsoever!
BTW, mags were 17.89 $ each at Academy Sports in San Antonio.

I have 2 of the promag, 12 rounders for my xd40 and both hold 12!!!no harder to get 12 into them than the factory mags.

The mags in question are on sale at Natchez for only $14.55. At that price, I think they're worth a shot. [guess]If worse comes to worst, you could probably use a factory spring to fix things up and still save some money.[/guess]

ProMag is junk product. Use Mec-Gar or OEM mags. The magazine is the weakest link in semi-auto systems and also the one you have greatest control over. Isn't you life worth spending a bit more for a dependable product?

I disagree; my life is not at stake while practicing!!! I do agree that for carry, I would never trust my life to an aftermarket mag or any mag that I felt was not safe--but for everyday practice, there is nothing wrong with buying cheaper mags that work.
