I have a couple thousand rounds through my XDMc 3.8 .40 that is a little over a year old, and a brand new XDS 3.3 9 that will make its range debut tomorrow. As a friend asked me, "why do you use the word 'either' when contemplating gun purchases?" ...
I bought my xdm45c bitone a few months after it came out for 665 otd the next best price was 690 before tax. I'm sure the xds are cheaper. I would like a xds 45 4.0. Either that or a glock 30s.
XDM is the most expensive line in the springfield polymers they are known as a 6-700 gun , the XDs's are a 5-600 gun.
Of course deals , and location can swing the above i'm just going off the average prices.
and of course the XDm and XDs are completely different guns for different purposes (normally) ... the XDm is a match grade pistol acceptable for competition shooting and is a standard compact and full size while the XDs's are carry guns.
