I've been shooting a 4.5 inch 9mm XDM in IDPA for roughly half a year now.
I've always seemed to be much more accurate with my 1911 .45.

For the people with experience in both:

Are there any benefits to switching to a 1911 9mm doublestack over the polymer guns? I don't expect to be carrying it.

TIA

Doublestack 1911's tend to be some of the widest pistols I've ever had my hands on, can your hands deal with the grip circumference?

The best thing about the 1911 is the trigger. Although my xd45tac with PRP tigger is pretty damn good, it's never gonna b a tuned 1911. As far as grip size, the sti 2011 is far more comfortable than a glock.
