Just Joined the Forum but not NEW to handguns

While detail stripping the slide of the Hellcat, I felt something hit my shoe, "OH NO!"
Found a small little pin with a groove on the floor & after looking at the Hellcat's Manual discovered a pin goes inside the extractor spring that I assume limits it's movement & the groove goes toward the rear = see red arrow, it floats inside the spring...
I attached the page showing orientation with a screen shot below my photo
All is good & reassembled it last night late

I do like Hellraiser. My new, unfired, Pro, is on the bench for slide disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication.

All is good & reassembled it last night late

At my first disassembly I have watched a video that brough that pin to attention (and position).

I like my Hellcat, I just didn't like the MIM striker, I consider them a cost related compromise. I have a stainless steel one now.

Wonder WHY they changed way it is shaped toward the rear?
Wouldn't think these are worth the cost BUT?

I detail strip MOST anything I have ever bought & had no trouble other than the part falling out I didn't know about
Should have looked the diagram first
The frame got taken apart too but didn't disassemble the sear housing

Did it change the trigger pull? Different angle on sear?

Looks like the striker is prone to breaking after dry firing. And it looks like a weak part. I ordered the stainless striker from NDZ this morning. It is built better than the MIM part, and I will feel more confident.
