Hey guys, I was just wondering if these are normal wear patterns

First, its the barrel and slide where the wear corresponds... also there are some scrapes on the right hand side of the slide pic.

last, there seem to be some minor wear on this face.... nothing major, just seeing if this is "normal"

any ideas on what I should do then???

The scrapes on the side are somewhat deep... enough to catch a finger nail in...

edit: I cant seem to find an edge on the barrel which would be cause the scrapes to appear..

guess I'll need to hit SA up with a question

looks fine to me. Sand it off and polish it, make it look nice and purdy

BTW, as long as the gun shoots straight, SA wont do anything about the barrel.

In the last photo by TriggerMan showing the firing pin hole where the cartridge is ignighted, what causes the "ghost cartridge head" there, is that the heat from the primer and powder ignighting causing a bit of brass to wear into the chamber itself?

Obviously normal because I've seen it in practically every autoloading pistol I've ever examined but always made me wonder.

yeah, the barrel seems fine, but its really gouging the heck out of the slide. I'd imagine at the current rate, in about 500 rounds, those gouges might be quite deep, enough to feel them when cycling the action, which is what I'm little concerned about.

Took some quick pics for you. They're not the best in the world as my photography skills SUCK but I hope they help.

As you can see from the pics I have all the same wear patterns EXCEPT the heavy slide gouging on my Sub. In fact, inside my slide, it's barely noticeable that there is any wear at all. (regular black slide, w/ about 500 rnds thru it)

And on my XD40 w/ the stainless slide, there is a little gouging on the left hand side (inside) but not near as much and I prolly have close to 1,500 rounds thru this one.

P.S. Pardon the cleanliness or lack there of on my guns. Just went shooting recently and haven't cleaned em' yet.

would this possibly mis fitted barrel cause it to possible line up the feed ramp a hair off? I know looking at where the feed ramp hits the frame little ramp, that the wear pattern is off and at an angle.... Reason being is I'm still getting a few FTF after 500 rounds with a few types of ammo....

alright... I have the afternoon off tomorrow, hopefully I can give a quick call and see whats up

I emailed them a few days ago with links to my pictures. Unfortantly, I'm leaving for school in California in a few days, so now I need to get it ready to ship to SA or get it ready for a plane ride.. ahh such a hassle...

Yeah, so far, the gun has had FTF on Fiochi, Winchester White Box, and Gold Dot JHPs.... as the wear pattern increases on the frame part of the feed ramp, it looks off to me which might explain the FTFs... I'll still try and get a pic of it
