You have to create an account, verify email address then go back and "click" to sign. This is a citizen initiated petition and if 5000 signatures are collected, it will be looked at (then probably shredded:rolleyes:) but at least it will be looked at.

Please go there and sign.

Anything under whitehouse.gov (www, wwws) would be owned by the same entity (in this case the government). Now don't try to go to whitehouse.com, that is NOT owned by the same people.

Dang. I was hoping for something really funny after your warning. It would have been funny if it was a porn site or gambling site. Instead it's a college loan site.

Call me paranoid, but ... I'm not gonna give Barry or Holder my information ;)

They can look it up, when they administer the final phase of Fast & Furious.

the S in the WWWS. means its verified a secure website.

and I am not comfortable logging in to a gov. website. remember cash for clunkers? as soon as you logged into the gov website your computer became govt property because you clicked the ToS agreement.

For the doubters ... Backspace until the web address is https://wwws.whitehouse.gov, then hit enter.
You'll be greeted with Barry's face.

All they ask for is name and e-mail address. And come on... y'all have SSNs, and taxpayer IDs, and have filled out ATF forms to purchase firearms, and NFA goodies... do you really think logging into a whitehouse.gov site to "sign a petition" is going to send the jackbooted thugs to your house? You're not giving them any information they don't already have folks... this is akin to leaving your SSN off of the ATF form when they do the background check. It's silly.

John I think you have a good concept. The 72 signatures show that it isn't popular enough, or advertisable enough to get wind in its sails.

Here's an idea:

Revise the goals to something that is attainable, like NFA process reform (IE a request for a process that instead of taking $200 and 3-7 months via paperwork is like the NICS check system [electronic and immediate or less than one week in most cases]. Maybe add a clause about suppressor tube replacement by the original manufacturer in the event of damage, tax free.

Even a petition for suppressor ownership in 50 states)

The current administration isn't going to be receptive to anything involving the word "automatic weapons".

If you did put this sort of thing together you could contact the owners of AAC, Gemtech, SWR, SilencerCo, Knights Armament Co, Griffin Armament, and others and we could post the petition to our facebook feeds.

AAC and Gemtech have ~8000 members. We have nearly 3000, SWR also. This gives you a fighting chance to get 5000 names for something that has a chance of accomplishing something.

Maybe after you get administration change, revisit the topic of the machine gun ban.

This is just a suggestion, but I think your concept is good, and the plan just needs slight modification to be something that will actually get 5000 signatures.
