***Thread Revival!***
I just came from the SAXET show here in San Antonio, and Steve from PagerPal was there. I tried one of his holsters with the mock guns he had, but I did not have my XD with me as they don't allow concealed carry at the show. Anyhow, using the mock gun he had, I found his holster worked well wearing the cargo shorts I normally wear when I am not at work. I squatted and the "gun" did not bind or restrict my movement, and it sat on the top of my thigh comfortably enough. I am only concerned with access, it is a three-step move of pulling your belt forward, pulling up on the cell phone case (I don't think he had any pager models anymore, as someone noted, you don't see many people with them these days...except maybe for doctors!) and then drawing the weapon. I am also concerned with the grip of the weapon binding on my waistband as I was drawing the weapon.
Now, what I like about it. It is more comfortable than my IWB holster. Secondly, it is more concealed and I don't have to worry about "printing" as I do when I carry my IWB (at about the 5 o'clock position). Thirdly, it is not where people expect you to be carrying a weapon, so when my 9-yr-old comes up behind me at WalMart and grabs me around the waist, I don't get the "Daddy, what's that in your back?" question. If someone notices the bulge in the front of my pants, I'll just take it as a compliment!
I also like that it can carry any gun, so I don't have to worry about swapping out my 1911 for my XD-45ACP. However, I would still be interested in hearing if anyone has actually used a PagerPal with the XD-45...
Cheers! M2
