Ok, so I own a xdm40 compact and I love it. I am currently looking to pick up another handgun. I am wanting to pick up something a little smaller than my current compact. I was wondering from those who have both or have made a similar decision, if its worth getting a xdsc or should I look at something else?. Glock G26? Next one will be a 9mm. Used for carry/ range.

If your main reason for this new guy is carry I would not advise an XDsc since you already have an XDm c. These two guns are very similar in width with the XDm being a little bit longer. I would look more towards an XDs that way you have a thinner gun for summer time carry. Ihave an XDsc that I use for OWB carry and an XDs 9mm for IWB. If you do decide to go with an XDsc, loon at the new MOD.2
Im mainly looking for something for the range. The size of the xdm does not bother me carrying. Im just wanting more capacity than what a single stack offers.
After handling a new MOD.2 I would recommend it over the original XDsc. Since this is mainly going to be a range gun would a full size work better for you? An XD 4" or even the XD 5" Tactical would be better but as you know that is the beauty of the compacts because you have two different sizes of mags.
I have thought about a full size, but I like the idea of having options for carrying. But a full size still isnt out of the question.
If it's for range or home go large. If for carry go small. That's just me of course.......
I love love love my XD40SC...I am planning to add a second to my stable soon, since the poo-poo Mod 2 has driven the prices down...Never was a fan of the XDm personally, but they are fine weapons in their own right

I'd say handle a few and see what ya can find a deal on, in the proper caliber and go from there...Keep in mind the XDSC has slightly cheaper magazines also, which could be a factor...

Keep us posted on what ya decide--and pictures or it didn't happen ;)
Look at something else. I own several XD's one being a sc.

I carry a G26.
Still looking at all my options. Will be going to the range this weekend to hopefully narrow down some of my choices. Will keep you guys posted.

Carry what you shoot best.

The "best" gun is the one YOU like, not anyone else. It will be a compromise of:

1. Fit - It should fit in your hand like you were born with it there.
2. Reliability - It should go BANG about 99.8% of the time you pull the trigger.
3. Accuracy - In YOUR hand. It's how well YOU shoot it.
4. Concealability - It should be comfortable enough to wear and easy enough to conceal so you won't leave it laying on the dresser at home.
5. Cost - You don't want to scrimp on your "life protector" weapon, but you probably don't need a $1,000 Kimber, either.
6. Enjoyment - The caliber and gun should be fun to shoot. If it isn't, you won't practice with it like you should.

All that being said, my EDC is an XD9SC. It and I are damned accurate and it's just plain old fun to shoot. It fills all the criteria above. YMMV
