Ok I think I've decided on another XD

I've finally made up my mind on yet another XD. A subcompact this time.
Just wanna ask a few questions.
Do they come apart the same as the service models?
How accurate are they to shoot? I've never shot a gun that small.
Might come in handy though since I have fairly small hands.
Any info would be appreciated.

I was considering wear the sub in some kinda ankle setup. Possibly along with my service on my hip.
I've been nosin around at holsters already.....is this a bad idea??

You'd better have some baggy-bottomed pants. The SC is debatably easier to conceal on the hip, but it's still a pretty thick gun. I don't think it would be a good choice for an ankle rig. Better go with a KelTec or similar very small framed weapon.

If you decide to get one, do yourself a favor and (as others have suggested) get the Pearce Grip Extensions. It doesn't add length to the back-strap of the grip...only adds about 1/2" to the front. But it makes all the difference in the world for comfort/control. The SA X-tenders that are out in limited availability make the grip the same length as a service/tactical.
I have no accuracy problems with mine from a "self-defense" distance, but it's no target pistol.
The felt recoil from the SC 9mm is very similar to a service .40cal.
