Just picked up the bi-tone XD40SC. It may be a little heavy for ankle carry at 23+ oz loaded (I'm guessing here, but I'm sure it's no lighter than that). A good IWB holster is best. You can use the 9rnd mags in the summer and the extended 12rnd mag with heavier clothing. You have the best of both, being able to change from the standard service grip length to a sub-compact length when desirable. I really like the stainless steel bi-tone model, it looks great and you don't have to worry about any finish issues (or rust). Accuracy is not an issue, the sub-comopacts are very good out to at least 20yrds, which is acceptable for a CCW weapon. I actually shoot the sub-compacts a little better than the service model, but maybe that's just me
