As one that bought an M-1 Carbine for 125 bucks, an East German Makarov for 120 bucks, a surplus FN Hi-Power for 225 bucks and several SKSs at a shade under 100 bucks a pop.....hell yeah milsurps are getting outrageous!

So is the ammo to feed certain ones. I cannot find surplus/cheap 8mm Mauser or 303 British anywhere. Ditto for 6.5x55 Swede. Only 7.62x39 and 7.62x54R are left...really.

Do you know that back in the early 90s....I could shoot my SKS and Enfields cheaper than I could my 22 magnum rifle? Yep..a 1200rd case of very good Chinese 7.62x39 would run me maybe 65 bucks at a gun show. We ran tons of the stuff through our SKSs and AK. I still have a 1945 made 250rd Vickers machine gun belt of 303 British in my closet - paid 30 bucks for it. God only knows how many of those belts I ran through my 5 Lee Enfields. We never thought the supply would end! LOL

I also own a really nice 1944 M-1 Garand that I bought from the CMP in the early 90s for 325 bucks. No telling what that thing would go for these days. It is a Springfield Armory rifle with the original barrel and un-cut op-rod as well. I could not buy the stock for 325 bucks for this Garand nowadays.

So yeah...buy the cheap Mosins and ammo and squirrel it away. I still have spam cans of 54R and Chinese 7.62x39 in my closet.
