Flash down the barrel it just looks worn but without flash it looks rusted is this normal for a new gun

It looks like heavy copper residue to me. Have you fired it? Did it remain afterward? Another thing it could be is that copper based lubricant/protectant that is used on firearms. I can not think of the name of it, although I have a jar around here somewhere. I know from experience that when used on steel, it works very well and is a pain to remove the copper colored residue. I hope that helps you.

Try a good cleaning with barrel cleaner and a wire barrel brush. I find that the plastic brushes don't get the hard stuff off.

They're all fired at the factory. It only takes a few rounds to lay down a bit of copper. It's normal. Fuggedaboudit.
