...but what's with the cases bouncing off my head. This is only the 6th pistol I've owned and the only one to consistantly ejected empties straight back.

I searched the forum and saw the sugestions to try different ammo. I shot some gun show ammo this trip, I'll try some white box and American Eagle next trip. I'm glad I came across that or I'd have tried tweaking the ejector. I was wearing a hat, but it's for the ocasional case that comes back, not for 3 of 4 empties bouncing of my dome.

I had 2 jams during the 100 or so rounds I put through it this weekend. I'm not worried about it unless it's still doing it in another 200 rounds.

Anyway, enough whining, I like the pistol. It's plenty accurate, handles well, the fit and finish are good. I'm happy with the pistol, but will be thrilled with it once it quits ejecting cases off my head.

If you are running with a stock spring, your cases should be ejecting about 6 feet from you. If they are hitting you on the head, it may mean you are "limp wristing" it. Just an idea, no offense. :)

I have an XD40 Tactical, the only thing shot through it is 165gr WWB and I have had no problems whatsoever. I never really paid any attention to how far the empty brass goes but it does go the right not straight back.

Wife was shooting my XD-9 Tactical on Sunday. A spent case landed on her right arm, good thing she was wearing a jacket. I suspect improper grip was the cause in her case.
In your case it sounds like cheap reloads with a mild powder charge. I would think factory ammo should cure your problem.
Good luck, shoot safe. :p

i'll get an occasional shell to teh head, not many though. The one that sucked was teh casing that went over my head, and down the back of my shirt. It was hot...

Sorry for not checking-in sooner, I got a new hard drive this afternoon. How's it look, do you guys like it?

Stock spring, I could be limp-wristing. Would limp-wristing really make the cases come straight back instead of angling back?

Took a good look at the ejector and it looks fine, AFIK. Comparing the pictures posted here of ejector issues, mine looks good. Once I get all my software downloaded, I'll post pics of the ejector. Maybe I'm missing something.

Could be the ammo, however it shot fine out of a SIG I used to have.

I failed to mention in my previous post, my buddy had brass plinking off his head too. I did put a mag worth of HP's through the gun to see if a better ammo would differ. Most of the cases made it over my head, but again, straight back.

As I said, I'll try some different (better) ammo and see if I can find some that will kick right.

Ranger, hot brass down the back sounds below average.

R Dub, fargnocker is just a word we came up with as kids as a substitute for the F-word when adults were around.

Thanks for the help.
