Welcome to the forum. Lots of good info here, and I hope you have a good cash flow, these XD's can be addictive, especially when you start adding accessories  Enjoy and shoot well.

Geez, tell me about it. I bought my first XD40 just before Christmas. I had no intention of spending extra money on it, as I am a poor college student. I now have 2 XD40's, guide rod upgrades for both, night sights, and a 9mm conversion barrel. I can't stop. Please help....

Well, hello all, I am also a new owner. Just picked up my .40 yesterday and I am going out to the range tomorrow. Was just wondering what you guys think if anything should be done before shooting first time. Should I strip it and clean it first, oil it up or is it ready to go right out of the box. Any help would be needed as I have been gunless for about ten years now. You guys made my decision real easy on what to get after lurking here for a couple weeks before purchase.

Thanks all....
