I'm a newbie to this forum, but have been reading it for a while. I decdied to purchase an XD 40 service based on much of the research from friends, magazines, and especially from what you all have posted on this forum. Thanks for the forum. It has been very helpful.
My XD is being shipped today from MO, where I got it for 399.95 (can't beat that!). I never fired one before making the purchase, but coudn't passs up the opportunity to bid on one at such a low price from gunbroker.com. Anyhow, thanks for all the helpful posts.
I sold my .40 Beretta 9000s (also on gunbroker.com) for the XD. No comparison in terms of features. I fired less than 300 rounds through the 9000s and had several cartridge loading probs and one casing jam. That sucks when you carry it on your hip for self protection. Not wanting to spend a million dollars on a Kimber or Sig, I looked into other VERY reliable and durable pistols. Lo and behlod, the XD!
I'm not knocking Beretta. Perhaps they just rushed into making a polymer model pistol. Or perhaps I got a bad apple. Or perhaps I need to learn to clean better. Who knows.
