Hey I have a MOD 2 service in .45acp i want a 22# recoil spring but can't find any options so I was wondering if I could put a slide assembly from a 5 in tactical on the frame of a 4 in service model

Thanks for the help

I believe the service and tactical Mod2 frames are identical, so yes, you could.

However, there is no aftermarket source for slides, so you’d have to buy a Tactical to get the slide...which would come with its own frame...so it would be kind of pointless.

I'm assuming that there is a reason you're not going with the Wolff 21-pounders, right?

^ Just checking to be sure. :) I know you wrote that you can't find any (I can't, either), but I wanted to also be sure that the one-pound difference is something that you'd already considered.

Failing that -

I would call Wolff and ask if their XDM 4.5-inch 22-lb. spring works in the Mod 2 Service.
