New member here, and new owner of IMO one of the best handguns out there - SA XD 45 ACP XD9611HCSP06.

One questions - being a LH shooter, the holster included with the gun is not a viable option for me. Any advice on a similar holster? I have a leather holster that will suffice in the meantime, but I like the look of the SA piece.

Yup, the XD Gear holsters are not exactly "top notch" but they will get you up and running to let you get a better idea of what YOU really need and want. Better than starting with an expensive mistake.
BTW you only slightly missed the mark, the BEST handgun out there may well be the XD-45Compact version.
