All:

I have been lurking for a while and thought it was time to make my presence known. I'm a newbie to the board, but not a newbie to shooting or the XD. I will carry and compete with my XD40 and love it.... This Board is packed with information, tips and tricks...

Thanks to all who contribute in a meaningful manner. Thanks to all who have served or are serving in the Armed Forces and/or Law Enforcement....

A special OOHRAH to my brothers... you know who you are....

Welcome aboard; always glad to have new peeps here.

I take it you're in the Armed Forces? If so, just wanna let you know I appreciate what you do.

Sit back, open up a cold one, and enjoy. :)
Welcome....glad to see your from a state that acutally allows you to shoot your weapon....
Welcome to the site! It's nice to see other servicemembers aboard.
Welcome to the board, your welcome for the thank you and thank you for your service also. (hope that wasn't too confusing, it almost :? me).

Off subject and ? for hextex: how did you know what state he is from? I don't see it beneath his avatar and it's not in his profile. I admit I'm computer dumb, but how did you know?
Welcome to the board, William. Otu of curiosity, do you shoot the Service or Tactical model when you compete? Have you `tricked out' your baby with any interesting modifications yet?

mr0w1: I'm out now, but I definitely have my "been there...done that" shirt...

As far as tricks goes.. I plan to carry and compete with an XD40 Service (4")...
I have a Don's guide rod and #24 spring,
Dawson fiber optic front sight (red),
Barsto custom fit barrel,
Decal Grip

other than that she is totally stock...LOL
Thinking about a trigger job to fix the over travel and reset... I like the trigger weight, but that over travel has got to go.
Oh, btw I'm classified as an IDPA SSP MM ( 4 seconds away from SS !!!)

I am from TX... i thought it was listed... hmm... we must remedy that!

I was told I have to shoot my new XD ESP and not SSP as it is SA. I was shooting a SIG in SSP.

AZSilver.
Everything that I have been told by the officials at the matches I shoot is that this is a stock production gun, and falls into the SSP category... I have heard that some places put it into the ESP.
Either all of the IDPA matches that I have shot are dead wrong or there needs to be some clarification.... HMMMMMM!

At local matches, and some state matches, they will allow SSP for lack of knowing better. In the end, the XD's trigger puts it in ESP, per IDPA Nationals. In the end, it just doesn't matter...

I stand corrected...
I have been informed that the BATF(E) considers the XD as "single" action thus making the XD qualify as an ESP. I was relying on what IDPA officials, range masters, and the IDPA rule book were telling me.

I guess you should always check with "big brother" first to see if it is OK....
Thanks to Old_School for helping me " see the light"

That's because it is a true single action. Welcome to HS2K!

It is a true single action!!

Oh, by the way, hello Sir William..

The trigger performs only one function. It drops the sear, which releases the firing pin, and allows the pistol to go "BANG!"

That's single action.
