I picked up a new to me 1911 champion model with a 3 and a 1/2 inch barrel with steel frame. From what I can tell, it’s a older 1911 because of the staked front sight. The gun has a little wear on the finish but nothing major.

Looks decent for an older gun. It looks like the trigger was probably replaced. If the price was right you can't go wrong.

You can call Springfield and have them look up your serial number to find the born date of your 1911

Champions are 4”-just under true Commander spec—not 3.5” like an Officers.

Called SA today, when I spoke to them and gave them the serial number. I found out that the frame is 1994 and the frame was a gi model. So I have a Frankenstein gun but I’m good with it.
