new here

just got the wife a XDm 9mm (i told her its hers) and we already took it out and threw a few hundred through it. i really like the way it shoots, and i am now interested in trying ispc or idpa. just a couple quick questions, does anybody have a tungsten or stainless solid guide rod? if so does it make a difference in recoil?
