New Glock Enhanced Performance Trigger

At the recent Shot Show in Las Vegas, Glock announced their new enhanced performance trigger available now for $99.00. It has 3.5 lb trigger pull and purported to be a very good trigger. The initial run has these trigger available for the 9mm models in Gen 5, modelsI 19, 45, 47, and 19x. Installation should be done by a certified Glock armorer.

All of my shooting friends and relatives own at least one Glock. I have fired the 19 and 17 at the range. I do not own a Glock pistol, but I am looking forward to shooting one with the new trigger.

Every time my wife convinces me that I don't need to purchase another new gun for a while, some dastardly gun manufacturer tempts me with something new.

Disclaimer is I am definitely no fan of Glock... For no particular reason.

If anything, Glock is late to the party as usual, there is a huge aftermarket already supplying that. One of the number one reason people like Glock is because huge aftermarket. I didn't see the announcement, and again no fan so haven't done stuff, but I'm not sure what Glock is providing that doesn't already exist. Not to mention that typically with manufacturer vs aftermarket... With most all make... The aftermarket does it better than OEM.

Like you I'm not a Glock fan, but do own a couple that are used for new shooters to try out.

The Glock trigger in the OP is $99.00 the best trigger for Glock gun is the overwatch precision and those are $150.00, Zev is next the Apex both of those are similar priced to overwatch's triggers.

The point I'm getting at is gun owners are cheap so Glock pricing this lower than the competition will get them plenty of sales.

I'm a Glock guy, have been for some time. Now that we have that out of the way, this is BS with a capitol B. If this is that big an improvement, it should be in their new guns, not an aftermarket after thought. Make your guns that good from the factory and take the cut for the aftermarket guys out of the equation. All my Glocks are outfitted with the Overwatch Precision PolyDat trigger shoes. With a properly tuned connector and this trigger, the Glock trigger is crisp and breaks clean. I'm sure the new guys to Glock and some of the old guys too, will jump on this because after all, it's an OEM Glock part. Unfortunately, it comes too late for me as I have what works for me already installed.

Asked at the G-lock booth at SHOT Show about the GPT if it will be a standard trigger in new pistols.

Got a confused look, shrugging of the shoulders, and a definitive “I don’t know”. Which is what I expected. Referred me to page eleven of the G-lock annual, which explains the development of said “enhancement of perfection”, along with the suggestion that it should be installed by a “certified GLOCK armorer”.

Glock expects admiration for selling what is essentially an aftermarket trigger? The real news would be if they installed the new trigger in all models going forward.

The more I think about it, once you add up the costs of a Gen 5 9mm Glock, the cost of the new enhanced trigger and the cost of the certified Glock Armorer to install it, you might as well just buy an HK VP9 and save yourself the time and trouble.
