Hello all,

As of Saturday I am the new owner of a XD-9 SC. I have yet to shoot it but have been hanging around this site for the last couple of weeks. Everything I have read convinced me to buy the XD over the Glock 26. The fact that I got a screamin' deal on it also helps ($399+Tax).

I have one question though. When I asked him what kind of lube to use he said "none at all, just keep it clean". Do I not need to oil it or anything? Not even the slide or Barrell? I know there are a bunch of posts regarding differend cleaning and lubing products that I have looked at. Does the lifetime warranty still apply if you don't clean/lube your gun? Just curious.

oil the slide rails LIGHTLY. If you like you can put a light film on the outside of the barrel & chamber, but it's not necessary. I would not recommend running it dry, unless you're using cleaners that have lubricants in them. Even then I'd still oil the rails. Lightly.

The other spot that I usually hit is the inside of the stock guiderod. As soon as I get my DGR & wolf spring I won't have to worry about that anymore...pain in the neck.

I disagree. I strip the slide from the receiver each day so I don't leave a complete gun in my car when I go to work each night. I refuse to oil it every day, and sometimes go 6-8 weeks between range trips. I haven't had a problem yet. However, each gun might be different.
