1st of all, I'm new to the forum, been reading through the threads and it seems like there's some good info to be had.

So, here's my bone-head play of the day. I field-stipped and cleaned by XD9 4" this afternoon. I got distracted and put the slider back onto the frame without fist re-inserting the barrel and spring.

Now, I can't get the receiver off the frame to re-assemble properly. Any ideas?

So, I guess I should've worked a few more minutes before posting the question. Right after I posted I walked over, inserted a magazine, held the slide back in place and dry-fred, that let me release the slide forward off the frame.

Obviously not an ideal fix, but all seems well.

Push the slide forward until you feel spring pressure then pull the trigger to release the sear. Your slide should pop right off.

Hey CM2, That's the way to remove the slide according to the owners manual. When all else fails; read the directions! No flame intended.
