NC Star is quite possibly the worst optics manufacturer that exist. I would guess that this thing would crap out with the recoil of a .22 short.

I am not disagreeing but what do you base that on? I am just trying to get some information. I have no dog in this fight. Thanks.
I think the old addage "you get what you pay for" applies here. I was just curious. Thanks guys.
Academic I guess. 'Was told by the supplier the setup pictured above won't fit an XD Service.

I am basing my statements as someone who once played a minor role in the optics industry at the manufacturing/importation level. I know the factories and I know the cost of production and the return/failure rates of optics. I can tell you that a few years ago, NC Star's most expensive scope had a manufacturing cost of less than $5.00 and a out of the box failure rate of 40%-80% depending on which factory and manufacturing batch they came out of. There are no dedicated assembly lines, or any real quality control standards. These factories (multiple) are contract manufacturers and build for many groups such as BSA. Think low cost, low quality, high return rates, and even higher profit margins. To be fair, the out of the box failure rate means that something was found to be wrong with them. That could be something as minor as a scratch on the tube or a blemish in the glass, all the way up to a totally crapped out scope. These types of companies can survive these problems because they sell their products dirt cheap and still have huge built-in profit margins.

That's exactly the info I needed. Thank you for taking the time. I really appreciate it.
