Eating ammo. Went to the range last night and shot 100 WWB 115gr FMJ and 100 Remington 115gr HP. My XD has never, ever malfunctioned, not even once! Took my fiance's little sister too. She had never fired a gun in her life...talk about limp wristing...I thought the XD was going to jump back & bust her noggin! The XD just kept firing...no matter what! Thats what I like in a defensive weapon...reliability!!! :D

That's my guess too, since he said 115 grain ammo.

Yeah iam having the same wonderful problem with my XD40 service. I took my daughter the other day and it was her first time shooting a pistol. Now she wont stop asking when we can go back. I felt the service model was a little to big for her so I went and bought a XD40 subcompact last night. I figured it was a good excuse to go get a new toy. We plan on shooting atleast 300 rounds if not more saturday.

I too have a hungry XD...factory should put a warning label on the box,
"For proper care and feeding must take to range often"

Know what you mean. Mail order my ammo and the UPS guy is always commenting on the heavy boxes. Last order was 3000 rounds. The four .40 S & W's I have (3 XD's and a Ruger Carbine) really go through the ammo. Have nearly filled a milk can with spent casings.

All three of mine eat it up as well...

I should be loading my own at this point due to the fact I shoot so many rounds per month...It would definitely be more economical... but I continue to buy the stuff off the shelf...

WWB, Remington UMC, CCI Blazer (Brass and the Al)...
The only thing I have noticed is that the Blazer Aluminum casing get the crap ripped out of them upon extraction...it's quite amusing...

Oh I forgot to specify caliber as well...

9mm 115, 124, and 135
.40 155, 165, 180
.357SIG 115, 125, 150

XD40 Service - 24# spring w/ Don's guide rod
XD357 Service - 24# spring w/ Don's guide rod
XD40 Tactical - 16# spring w/ Don's guide rod
XD9 Sub - Stock (cuz they don't make anything yet...lol)
