My second XD a 9mm SC

I took my new XD sub to the range today. I have to say I really like this gun. At 25feet it does shoot quite as tightly as my 4" 40sw, but it shot very well. My shots were in concentrations of 4.75" to 2.25" which is about where I started at when I first got my 40. Maybe with a little more practice I can get down to 2 to 3 inch concentrations.

That being said the gun was a bit more scattered at 35 feet. At this distance I was shooting 8 to 10 inch shots with maybe 6" at best.

After shooting I bought a pearce grip extension so maybe this will help things a bit. It certainly makes the gun more comfortable to hold.

The Pearce grip extension will make all the difference in the world! You couldn't pay me enough to get rid of mine.
I used the pearce grip yesterday and I can honestly say my SC shoots as good or better than my service .40. I would say that I like this gun better than my 4"!

I love my SC9 but you are right the shots are scattered at 20-25 feet but you have to remember what a CCW pistol like this is used for "up close and personel" 10-12' 2-3 rnds and it will not disappoint you, with practice you should be able to double tap from 20' and hit center mass from a holstered position.
Also remember that the guys and gals here have a wealth of info to share
I'm still just a nub

And here I thought it was just me... That's exactly what happened to me when I went to the range with the SCs... Same spreads at the same distances... I keep forgetting their design is for up close and personal...
I hate to say it guys, but it's not the gun. I'm not the best shot but I can still shoot 3-4 in. groups at 35 feet with the sub. It's all in the trigger pull! I don't have a service size to compare it to, but this is one nice shooting gun. :D
I already knew it wasn't the gun...

It's the operator, with more range time needed...
I love my XD9SC the more I shoot it. I think its the perfect size...not too small where it feels like a pocket pistol, but not so big that its dificult to conceal. My friend has the 40SC and it feels about the same (recoil) if your slow firing, but when we start double tapping or rapid fire drills, it make me glad I chose the 9.
