Flame/correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't it be possible to drop it into the SC and just have an extra inch sticking out? I'm under the impression that the internals of the models are the same expect the spring and obviously the size of the stock, slide and mags.

No it wouldn't be possible. The linkage in the sub-compact barrels is all different.

Why does the barrel on the XD stick out so much? Is that normal on the larger XDs or just because it's a non stock barrel? Personally, I think it looks odd and I wouldn't want it. That's just my 1/2 cent and you know what you can buy with that. You are obviously happy with it, so that's good.

I do like your 1911 tho. Unique trigger, I never seen one with those kind of slots. I like it, makes it a little different.

Well the reason it sticks out so much is because it's ported on the end. You have to have the gasses escape somewhere. It take most of the recoil off the gun. Very fast followup and it is a true national match barrel and is very accurate. Thanks for the compliments on the 1911 btw.
