DOING A FIELD STRIP AND RUNNING MY MOUTH. Put the slide back on without the spring and can't get the slide off again.
Anyone out there encountered someone a dumb as me who did this before?

i take it your talking about the recoil spring...
i do not know if this will work but .....did you try moving the slide to slidelock position moving the locking lever up moving the slide back to firing position
and then releasing the trigger and pulling the slide off?

oh yea make sure it is empty please

Lock it back and remove the striker locking plate and pin. Once it is out release the slide amd remove it. Worked for me.

Assume you mean recoil spring. Never done that but just tried by intentionally leaving it out. First need to push slide forward (just push last 1/2 inch to overcome striker, no need to remove it). Now proceed as normal with trigger pull to release slide.

Easier to do then it is to explain.

Lol. I are one of the "dumb" ones. Took me a while to figure it out.

Push the slide forward, you will feel spring pressure ( that's the striker spring) pull the trigger and the sear will let the striker go.
