I currently own the xd 357sig I purchased a xml light. To my suprise it will not mount properly on my gun due to only one slot cut into frame I have found out that all the newer xd's have two...Does anyone have a solution or want to purchase a xml light???????

You can cut another slot your self or have a gunsmith do it for you.

Am I missing something? When did this happen? Oh well, I already hacked a second groove with the good ol Dremel tool.

I suppose they're just now rolling out the new frames. My theory is that they're still trying to use up the old single-groove frames first though.

i lucked out and have the newer 2 slot on mine...

but has anyone tried contacting springfield about this? Do you think they would replace the frame if u shipped them the gun? or somehow make it up to you?

Not true!!!! I just checked myXD9 and it just has one slot and I just bought it last fall with the Gear-up and Go- Hard package. If I cut another slot it will be right through the serial number. :twisted: Haven't checked my XD357 yet as its in the truck. I'll check it later.

I just sent an email to [email protected] so we will see. I went to the truck and checked my 357sig and it also has just one slot. :evil:
Does any other light just use one groove? Glad I read this thread cause I was about to order the XML.

For anything Except the SC models, the Streamlight M3 will fit (about $100) as well as the Surefire X200 (about $210).

The Streamlight M6 and M6x will also fit. Any accessory that will fit a 'standard accessory rail' or a 'glock mount' will fit onto your gun.

I'm not sure why you'd want an XML on anything except an SC.

Ron xd357....maybe you got a bad light?? I went to a gunstore and picked up another Xd This one in .40 Service and I asked the owner about why some frames had two grooves and some only one groove. He then got out several and all had only one groove except the XD40 I bought. He said he'd never noticed it before. I then asked him if the XML light would work on both and we tried one and it did work with both the one groove and two groove. So I bought an XML also

it will mount on gun it just wont sit all the way back for easy on and off unless you have long fingers I bought the m3 works great actually brighter then the xml also
