Ever since I had my XD-9 Tact. I've been having some FTE. I had it since Jan. 05. Always wanted to carry it for ccw, but I did not think it would be safe for me at the time. I just carried my SA 1911 SS. or my Kimber custom II , or my Para LTC 1911 , or my Sig 220 SS, or my Glock 17. Well NE ways ...

Last Wed. I took My slide apart to see WTH. I noticed the extractor had a rough finish on the area that rests on the breech. So I smoothed it out and then polished it. Also broke all the edges. Put a little bullfrog on it so no rusts appears. Then put back together. Today I had a chance to try it . to see if it made a differnce. and it did !! I shot 400 rds in 2 cease fire sessions, and never had a FTE. I was happy

So here are the results. I shot at the 15 yrd bench. The one on the left is shot with 350 rds. Then the right is shot 50 rds.

Very good, to hear you fixed your XD's funtional problem.

Also I always change my targets out after 2 mags have been emptied, sometimes even sooner. 50 rounds in one target is alot, but 350 is way too much. You want to know where your shots are landing. Shooting ammo through a 5" hole is not doing much good except giving you some trigger time.

Keep it up, looking good!
