My question is this, we recently had several home invasions, break-ins, in the night. I keep my guns in a locked safe, away from everything else, some neighbors raised the issue of hearing a noice and going to the door with gun.
I thought in MD you can not "prompt" an intruder (like waiting at the door, or window, etc). But, if you don't open the door, call the police, can you have a loaded weapon at the ready, I have a small issue with "Right to Retreat" in my own home, but, I follow the law,
Not sure what the law says but if you go to the door and your gun is in the safe why even have the gun. I go to the door quite often with my weapon un-holstered and out of their view. It's always a lost pizza guy or one of the kids friends, but you never know when it will be an invader.
