So I finally decided to change my marlin 336 around a bit. I no longer use it for hunting so I figured it was time to un-sportsterize it.

Tell me what you guys think

Here's how it started:

End result:

I basically removed the crappy scope and scope rail. Removed the sling and sling studs. Pulled off the extended butt pad and the bullet sleeve. Took the hammer extension off. And switched out the factory lever for a stainless steel "big loop" lever.....just to bring out the inner cowboy.

So far I really like it but I need to find some flush mounting screws to fill the holes where the weaver rail was before. If you have any ideas let me know.

The stock 336 is one of the sweetest looking lever actions there are... and you brought her back to nearly that condition! The "big loop" lever looks fine.

Now, if you could just get someone to case-color the receiver and barrel, and jewel the hammer and trigger.... hmmm ;)
