I was thinking of getting some mag pouches for the times when I go to an outdoor range. I saw the safariland cd-76 metal clip mag holders. How do these compare to the kydex ones made by fobus, uncle mike's, etc. Are they worthwhile? http://www.safariland.com/dgcat/cd-auto.htm Thanks.

For going to the range and plinking just get some cheapo Fobus or UMs. I had some of the bare-assed Safarilands untill I bumped against a bench and put a crease in a $32 Wilson mag. They went in the burn barrel with the mag.

What's the general consensus on magazines for competition use? I never really figured out the difference or heard many opinions of one brand versus another.
