You all know the old adage walk softly and carry a big stick. Well thats kinda my thinkin when i went with the .45 acp. Now im lookin for a good home defence and carry rnd. I don't reload so thats out of the question. My local gun dealer told me the Remington Golden Saber 185 gr. +P HP rnds are the best on the market however they cost about 35.00 for a box of 20 or 25 cant remember. Now Ive used Golden Saber rnds in my .357 mag and really liked them but have yet to try them in my XD-45 i was wondering if any of you have, or what rnds you would use, or are useing

If you want the light/fast loads, I'd go CORBON DPX

If you want the classic 230 gr., Federal HST if your gun will eat it, Speer Gold Dot otherwise.

Just about any decent JHP form 185gr-230gr works int he 45acp. I like the std. vel. Rem. 185grGS for my short bbl. 1911s. The Speer GD in any wt. is good. as is the XTP. For 230gr, HST, Rem.GS, SXT, GD, all in std. vel., all do a good job. Choose one that feeds 100%, is accurate & then worry about terminal performance.
