I found this little red "roach clip" looking thing in my XDm case, under the foam. I didn't see a reference to it in the manual. Any idea what it is? It's about an inch and a half long.

You place it in the chamber and close the slide. It tells the world the gun is safe, not loaded.

It is a throw away item, just for new gun shipping. Pitch it now!

As others have said it's a 'Chamber Flag'. For shipping and for retailers display case to show chamber is clear.
Although some say ditch-it, it may be of use as some ranges require use of a Chamber Flag when guns are out of cases, so it may be of use if you have nothing else.

Most people believe it is a chamber flag...but it is indeed a roach clip...its for when you have a frustrating day at the range....enjoy!

Excellent, I will hang on to it. One of the local ranges does require a chamber clear flag. I don't know if it's big enough to satisfy their requirement, but I will ask.
