I've had my XD40 SubCompact for about 2 1/2yrs now and like it very much. I've reloaded for about 35yrs now, so I'm not new to the hobby.... However, I need to ask a couple of questions --

I recently bought a Dillon RL550B, I also purchased a couple of thousand mixed brass and 500ea. 180gr SWC lead bullets. I'd like to load a very light load for the XD and my Beretta 96. Just for paper punching and plinking. Is there any problem with shooting lead in the XD barrel? I loaded and shot thousands jacketed bullets, but this is my first foray in to loading lead. I picked Viht. N340, starting at 5.3gr (about 900fps) and working down. Is there a powder better suited to lite loads in the 40S&W? Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks

no problem with shooting lead, but most XD's dont like swc rounds. the swc's dont feed too well- try missouri bullets they make a round nosed round for the XD. or load 50 or so and try them before getting happy with reloading.
I shoot their 45 round and just ordered another 1000 rds from them for $66.

good luck
