Jamed slide

Stupid question, but do you have the grip safety fully depressed? Had this happen a couple times on my 45 when I first got it when clearing it, and if the grip safety wasn’t fully pressed, I.e. not a really good grip on the grip, it wouldn’t rack.

You can check for recalls on the Springfield website and the only recall I see is the recall for the XDs from 2013. The XDM has been around for a while (2008 according to Wikipedia).

You could call Springfield or visit a qualified gunsmith.

I hate it when that happens...and it happens way too often.

Ever get it fixed?

I dislike grip safeties.

I recently purchased a used safe queen SA Ultra Compact 9mm. Trying out different commercial sd ammo, gun kept jamming, being slightly out of battery, locked up tight.
It seemed certain ammo had the ogive that wouldn't fully seat into the barrel.
SA rehoned the barrel and re ground the feed ramp. Now, no issues and is my EDC.
