The muzzle of my barrel sits much closer to the top of my slide, It is no where near centered. Is this normal or should it be centered?

I have no complaints about the groups I'm getting. I have very little experience shooting pistols but I'm please with how my XD performs.
It just seemed like it should be centered. I never noticed it until the other day. Thanks for letting me know it normal.

normal position is off-center... you can even see it in promotional material ads if it's bugging you

That hole in slide that the barrel goes through is not round, it's slightly oval shaped. This allows for the room the barrel needs when the slide retracts and the barrel tips up.

If your barrel was centered in the hole, it would have no support, be flopping around AND it would shoot like ****.
