Walther P22 - black with 3.4" barrel

for

RIA 1911 - Standard 5" 1911 Parkerized style with no frills & wood grips

Both used and between 500-1000rnds

Which side is better and how much cash would even things up?

Trading the P22 maybe. I have to throw in some extra mags, a laser, or some ammo to even it out a tad.

I like the P22 but I want to try a 1911 for a while. If I don't like the 1911 I'm sure I can trade it to get a P22 in return! If I do like it I will try to sell it and get a Kimber or, if I feel real rich, a Nighthawk (those make me squirt lol)

I have both. IMO I'd save the money and buy the RIA. Mine cost me $399 plus tax brand new. They are both great guns though, i just dont see why you would want to trade your .22 to try a 1911. You can always go to a range and rent one if you aren't sure. My $.02.

Yep...go for it.

Then...go back later and get a nice Ruger 22-45 if you want a good 22 practice pistol. Or, maybe get a Kimber 22 conversion package for the RIA - both run about the same price.

A couple of mags through the Ruger 22-45 and you'll forget all about the Walther P22.
