But when i bought it 1 1/2 years ago It was to hard to get one with night
sights or a stainless slide. Can I get a stainless slide with night sights already installed. How hard is it to install new sight? Will adjustments have to be made the stock sights are awsome but it is my primary carry gun.

Best thing to do with your slide is to get it plated. Chrome, brushed chrome, black chrome etc. Replacing your sights can be easy or it can turn out to be a real bitch. It does help to put your slide in the freezer for 10 to 20 minutes before you attempt to remove them. If you don't feel confident in doing it yourself there's always a gunsmith down the road someplace.

I see that you have Fire Sights on your XD sub compact...
I bought my XD new and let the gun shop "install" Fire Sights but they practically ruined my XD slide and broke the front fire sight all to crap!
The gun shop sent my slide back to Springfield to get it re-finished and night sights installed. Did you install your fire sights yourself? If so, can you provide a few words of wisdom so I may be able to get another set of fire sights and install them on the XD sub compact I am getting soon? Any advice would be greatly appreciated... Thanks...

I think you can sand your slide to James, and he can install any of the sights he sells.

It was my understanding that you cant get a different slide separate from your gun. Im sure youve noticed but the barrel, slide, and frame are all stamped with the SN. Anyway, SA wont sell you just a slide....when i asked a dealer he said "if you wanted stainless you shouldve just paid the extra 30 bucks when you bought the gun"

As far as the sights go, goto a smith and most of them will do it for cheap or even free if youre friendly. You can do it yourself but if youve never done it just let a smith show you.

Take it from me! Get a gunsmith to do the sight install! I tried to remove mine and install the Ameriglo night sights (thanx to Old School  ) and ended up blowing a lamp on the rear! I know it's awesome to save that money but I would let it to the professionals (not saying that you aren't :D )
