I've noticed these little groves on the tip of my guide rod. It's an XD-9 5 in. tactical. The rod is factory. Just wanted to know if this is normal. :?

Looks like your spring is grinding into the rod. I would not worry about it now unless the gouges are deep (I cant really tell from the pic) Either way you can ask springfield Armroy for another one.

Since those look like somewhat smooth concentric rings, I am wondering as the slide closes that there is some resonant oscillation and the rod is wearing on the slide. :?:
What spring weight are you using?
