To go from 40 to 45gap?

Don't think that would work. The 45GAP cartridge would never fit into the breach face of an XD-40. I might be wrong I will go look.

Alrighty, I checked and I definitely don't think it would work.

I couldn't find a 45GAP in my odds and ends of cartridges but I had a 45 ACP and that's pretty close to the same rim diameter. As you can see there is no way the rim is getting into the breach face and under the extractor of my XD-40.

Just for completeness I did the 40S&W and the 9mm

Talked to Springfield Rep at NRA annual exhibit. And he confims what MCB has demonstrated for us. The breech face of the .40 isn't large enough for the .45GAP.

However, not that its worth anything, but I did notice that the .45GAP barrel is the same outside diameter as the .40. Just a thinner walled barrel.
