Hello all, I am back from the Canadian National IPSC Championships. There were 227 competitors at the Nationals this year. I shot in the Production Division using a stock XD40 Tactical. It was a 17 Stage 275 rounds Level 3 event over 4 days. My XD40 Tactical ran beautifully with only one minor hicup which was my fault and not the pistol's. I watched a lot of 1911 based guns fail due to the fine dust blowing around and drying out.

The Production Division proved to be a very tight race with it not so much as being won but by being lost due to a little mistake or scoring a "C" or "D" here or there. The spread between 2nd and 8th place was a mere 7% (88-81%) of the Masters score.

In some of the short stages I was actually able to beat some of the Open Division shooters with their $5000.00 race guns and with a flash of brillance I was able to beat 95% of all shooters on one long field stage.

As a "C" Class shooter I finished 8th overall against at least 4 Masters and 4 "A" class shooters. I have only been shooting IPSC for 14 months now.

I would like to say that my SA XD40 Tactical performed great against all the competition bar none. As I was the only XD40 Tactical user at the Nationals it caused quite a stir with a lot of people coming over to have a look at it.

I was impressed with it performance as usual but sadly next year it will be off of the Canadian IPSC Production list...I am not looking forward to having to use my Glock again for I was so used to my XD.

Here is a video of me at the IPSC National Championships as I pooched a stage...I lost track of my round count and did a standing reload

Pretty impressive video.
What was the round count--I count 32 but some may be artifacts of the video.
Do you always reload with the gun so far out from your body?
Congratulations on your performance, I'd say a job well done.

Thank you, I don't always load that far out, but with the back peddling it is more to keep my balance at the start of the back peddle. By the time I am ready to insert my mag my pistol is close to my body centerline.

Round count 31 :)

Cheers
