I have a comp barrel for my 1911 .45s, and don't use it. I installed it after I got it and took it to the range to compare with a regular barrel. As I fired the first few rounds I noticed that there was stuff kind of drifting down from the ceiling and then realized that it was the gasses the comp was directing toward the ceiling tiles blowing them apart.
I used it a few times after that, mostly for fun, but found that it didn't really make much difference, especially with my style of shooting.
I did try it at night and found the flame disconcerting but not a real big problem.
I also found that the extra length made it a problem to draw from my carry holster.
I have it stored away somewhere, but I don't remember where.
Not interested in another.
