I also like the idea of those safarilands with the little lever that can easily be indexed with your ring finger as you go to the draw. They seem like very secure holsters.

You should ask this over in the LEO section though. Might get more response.

The very one that I just purchased, the Don Hume "topless", I think it is called the 721. Has a nice sweat guard on the body side, sort of like half a thumb break. Forward cant, high rise and tight to the body, it's a tasty holster.

If you aren't in uniform, I'd carry in a pancake style holster.

I like that holster but I'm afraid it really isn't made for the 9mm. To much rattle. It seems to be ideal for the 40 though.
wouldnt worry about it, my buddy has an xd 9mm sub and it fits perfect, no rattle and looks super sharp!! just wish they made southpaw :( Get the one with carbon fiber!
