Well I bought my XD9 Service back in march and I'm in love with it to this day. Got it for 530 after tax out the door. Installed TFO's on it for 100 bucks shortly after. I carry it with me everywhere I go in a Blackhawk Serpa CQC lvl 2. Everywhere I go, people admire my firearm and tell me how awesome it is once theyve had the chance to fire it, most like it better than their own firearm. When anyone is interested in buying a pistol, everyone compares it to my XD9 Service. The only thing that I regret is not getting the Tactical model. That extra inch of barrel makes absolutely no difference in terms of concealment, which I didnt realize until afterwards, as this was my first pistol ever.

That being said, the first time I held the XDm-40 I thought it was really great, but I want the 9mm. Now that the XDm9 exists and is out for sale, I want to pick one up. It feels alot better, it will probably shoot better for me and it looks alot cooler. I keep my XD9 in mint condition, I've only fired under 1000 rounds through it, and I'm looking to trade it in towards the XDm9. I wonder how much they will give me for it or if I should just find a private buyer. What are your thoughts?

I have a tactical 9mm that I upgraded almost everything. Helps owning a XD parts supply Company ;). I had to come up with $175 cash differance. It was worth it to me. Plus I was able to get the coupon for two extra XD(M) mags and double mag pouch. I just upgraded my XD(M) 9mm. Only thing I did not to yet is a Springer XD(M) sear and trigger bar. I am saving them for customers. Good luck and hope you care do the upgrade.

I traded in my Xd9 service before I even fired it once! Just a few days after I picked it up, the XDM 9mm came out and I was pissed about it. I figured I'd rather take a smaller loss on the the trade in of an unused xd9 than use it and trade in later for less. I ended up losing about $150. But after handling the Xdm, I knew I had made the right choice. I fits much better for me, and I do like the extra size. Though small on paper, it feels more substantial to me in a good way.

I also was pretty good with it at the range. This is my first pistol, and Sunday was actually the first time I ever fired a gun. But I did pretty well. Even the range master commented that I was shooting very well for my first time out.

Yeah, it was a bit of a loss, but I have NO regrets about the trade.

Keep your XD9 and find a place that does layaway. Cut back on things that you dont really need for 2 months and you will have both. That's how I got all my gun's. I also went to the casino.
