I went over to Pistol-Gear to buy some more mags unfortunetly they didn't have any in stock. I decided to just call Springfield and see if they have any in stock. I called them on Thur and just found out that they shipped my mags out today. They were $24.95 and shipping was pretty cheap.

If you are looking for mags try the factory.

If you knew what your were talking about, then you would know that standard capacity is the non-klintonista way of saying "High Cap". It's "standard capacity" because they are the mags that were oringinally designed for the gun.

So, you want the people in Cali to commit a crime and have everyone else stuck with 10 round mags? Maybe that's how you intended the post to sound and I'm reading it wrong.

I called Springfield and ordered another .40 cal standard cap mag, though I should have ordered more to justify shipping. I just needed one to add to the two I have to hold me over.

Thanks NExd I knew there was someone who got what I was saying.

In case people are wondering here are some of the differant terms for magazines.

  • *Standard capacity = a flush mag that does not extend past the end of the grip.

*High capacity = A mag that usually holds over 20 rounds and extends several inches from the grip.

*Clinton mag = a magazine that was designed to hold more then ten rounds, but had been altered to diminish the capacity to comply with federal legislation in effect from 1994 to 2004.

*Clip = A stripper clip that is designed to load various rifles such as a SKS. There is no such thing as a Clip for a semi auto pistol.

If you disagree with any of my definitions please feel free to post your's.

"standard" for me is not "standard" for someone in California. My standard 15 round might be considered High Capacity to them. To add more confusion, a 15 round standard magazine that is used in a SC could be considered extended and hi-cap by SC standards.

I have heard "restricted" mags called CAMANY.
I have heard "unrestricted" mags called Full Capacity

I prefer to call it what it is...10 round standard magazine, 15 round standard magazine, extended 21 round magazine, etc to avoid the confusion.

My Clinton Magazine is the old Newsweek I use to line the birdcages.

Broomhandle Mausers used stripper clips. I'm pretty sure Tec 9/10 magazines could be loaded with stripper clips. I'm sure there were/are others.
