Some might remember I found a NIB 40 for 280 once before,
then 2 weeks ago another NIB 40 for 275, this after I bought mine
for 400 with the M6.

So here we go again. I've only got about $100 bucks in my pocket
but its burning a hole so I go to see what I can put on layaway.
Looking for a longslide 9mm either Xd tactical or G34 primarily.
But I find a service 9mm Bitone 8) that honestly looks unfired for 325
with 3 mags. I wanted to check Gander before I did anything.
The guy says "see you in an hour" cause I always come back.

But, while I there I see WWB 100packs for $21.. Great price they
never carry it either. Great price cause is they match Walmarts price PLUS the difference off their price. So 21-16=5 X 2=10 comes to $11 a box. Well no layaway but I got 1000 rds of 40 for a little less than 120 with tax.

Did I make the right desicion? I know I know go get the XD too. well
theres always tommorow. :D

personally, I dont think another service in a different finish is worth the money. I would look at a tactical, or get a used sig 226/220 from CDNN :)

The ammo was definitely a good buy. As for the new gun, I'd buy something other than the XD Tactical. [nomex]You've already got two XDs, and while they're nice guns, I see nothing to warrant buying a third. Unless you're set on owning the whole family, so to speak, I'd branch out. Variety is the spice of life, after all.[/nomex]

Flame away.

Yeah I hear you, guess thats why I didn't jump on it the first time.
This is another good deal, I don't doubt that. I do own other guns
but I only list my XDs in my sig here. I just like them the best and
considering how cheap they are...but I still would want the tactical
and if I buy this one that would make 4 XDs and MAYBE thats one too
many.

Thinks about this for a second though:
I think SA missed the boat by not distiguishing there lineup apart
more like Glock with every different size or caliber having a unique
number/model . I mean if you hear G17, G21, G22 you know exactly what the is without the Description, barrel length, etc..
The point is I have what would equate to a G26 and G22. I want a G34,
now I said that maybe this XD would be too many HOWEVER if if were
worded as a G17 making it a unique model I wouldn't hesitate. As opposed to saying I have another service model or I have another 9mm.
Glock lessens the redundency even though its only different in the labeling.
Does that make sense or is it just confusing?

I loathe the Glock naming system because there is no underlying logic. Numerical naming conventions need to be just that, a convention. BMW is a textbook example of how to do it; anyone remotely familiar with BMW knows the difference between a 3-series and a 7-series. Ask a general gun enthusiast the difference between a G19 and a G31; chances are he'll be as dumbfounded as I am. Hell, I had to do some research to make sure both models even exist!

Well the logic is that they go up as they debute.
hence the new 37, 38 or whatever the new GAP models are.
The next one will be 39, 40, 41. They only start at 17 cause that
was Gaston Glocks 17th patent, so I've been told.
As far as BMW well its 325 doesn't imply anthing. If you know
that its a 3 series with 2.5L motor then your ahead of the game.
Its alot easier when you talking what 6 different models, if there
were only 6 glocks I bet you'd know what more of the numbers were
too. Its only a way to specify the gun, if you don't know what the number
equates too, you'll simply get the same response you are forced to
give when talking XD's Sigs or whatever. I mean you can't just say I
have an XD9 and some will know exactly which one so the point is
irrelavent. Hell someone might not even know what a XD is.

I disagree. Glock could easily have put some order into their model line by following the BMW method. The first digit denotes series (full-size, subcompact, etc), while the second refers to caliber. Using that method and the original G17 as a baseline, it would be easy to discern that a hypothetical G19 is a full-size pistol and a hypothetical G27 is a 9mm. While at first glance the system would not be obvious, a look over the the model line would immediately give away the pattern.

Enough of my rants. Back to the topic at hand.

I'm kind of surprised no one else thought the 9 was as good a
deal as I did. Maybe if you saw it. But 2 days later I decided to pass.
I got a pearce grip for my SC and it feels like a new gun.
I think $7 bucks just saved me $300.

with all these XD sales, you should just buy them and sell them for a profit. My first post was related to if you keep it yourself.

Did it still have the the XML light on it ? If I am thinking of the same place I was just looking at it the other day --they had an olive tactical right next to it for $365 w some die cut skateboard grip tape on the grip. There was aguy in there buying a new SIG who was looking for a light to go w/ it and his salesman may have sold him that light since they were out of everything else tactical light wise. Did not want another bi-tone gun - cant stand the look of my Ruger p's for that despit how they shoot. Nor another 9mm either really wanted a 40.

Did you see this Sig 226? I really thought about picking it up but that's a little much for me right now.

No not tempted. For a grand I'd buy a high end 1911.
Sigs aren't my thing anyway.

Its the bargin deals that get me like the CZ75 for 260 at
Gander or the CZ100 for 300, Neos 22 $200, all NIB.
Its like I got to get them before some else, you know how]
chicks are like "but it was on sale".
I think I'll wait to get a SP101 or SW686. if I can't find a deal
on a tactical or G34.

I don't have the ends to jump on thousand dollar bargans, yet.
Plus my Camaro comes out of storage in 2 weeks, after 6 months,
and he wants some presents too.
